My name is Kyle Dekker and I am a graphic artist based out of Kitchener, Ontario Canada. I have professional experience working in areas of website development, user interface design, website design, illustration, print design, responsive web design, video game illustration/design as well photography. I love to solve problems visually and along with my visual skills I am able to code and have professional experience coding for web.
I studied four years in the United States at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma where I earned my BFA in Graphic Design along with a minor in art history. While at the University of Tulsa I designed for not for profit organizations such as the Tulsa Crime Commission, University of Tulsa, and also illustrated a children's book in which I was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for my illustrations.
I currently work out of Waterloo, Ontario at a company called yconic as a front end web developer. I work alongside the dev team and design team coding webpages, emails as well as working on design company elements. I am a provisional member of the RGD, Registered Graphic Designers and personally enjoy the works of Todd McFarlane, David Ogilvy, and the creative illustrations of Dr. Suess. I am also an avid long distance runner, sports enthusiast and fantasy sports nut.
I have a strong passion for photography and love taking my camera with me wherever I go. I get inspiration from the photographs of Walter Iooss. You can check out some of my photography by clicking here on my profile at 500px.com.
